Felidhoo Atoll or Vaavu is an undeveloped paradise with only a few resorts but still relatively near the Male Atolls. In the central west is where most locals live at the islands of Felidhoo and Thinadhoo. In total you will find 26 main islands and islets with only five of them inhabited. In the south, just past the picturesque fishing village Rakeedhoo, you can find Vattaru Falhu, a 6 to 8 km wide circular shaped atoll, separated from Felidhoo, but well worth a visit. From Rakeedhoo Kandu all the way to Hurahu Kandu you can dive the Fotteyo Falhu (Fotteyo Mul), the longest unbroken barrier reef (50km long) in the Maldives.

Although it is possible to stay at some of the resorts on Vaavu Atoll, it is mostly visited by liveaboard tours sailing around the Maldives. Its pristine islands are beautiful; the waters are warm, nutrient and densely packed with fish and larger animal life. Manta rays and whale sharks are common especially on the eastern side. Many sharks are found in the heavy currents that are always present in the fast flowing channels. Felidhoo Atoll offers superb diving for beginning and advanced divers.
