Gulhi Island (Ghuli, Guru, Gu-ru) is a small inhabited island in the central east of South Male Atoll. It is only ten km north of Guraidhoo and 20km south of Male City. This 400 meter long by 225 meter wide islands is the home of almost one thousand people. Popular besides scuba diving is surfing, canoeing, windsurfing, fishing and sailing. Neighboring islands such as Dhigufinolhu, Bushy Island and Veligandu Huraa are reached easily, only separated by a nice channel filled with pelagic and reef fish.
